IP-telephony via AllTele

We signed the contract with AllTele today (2004-04-21)!

We are going to use the CAT-5 network we installed five years ago. It have been dormant until now, but now it's time to take it into service for the first time. I knew it would pay off to install all available types of cables!

All Tele will deliver three 24 port telephony switches to our central where they will connect the houses to an Ethernet port of the internet switches.

The phone traffic will be transported via internet to Song Network's building in Umeå city (7 km) where their gateway will move the "talk traffic" to the public telephony network (POTS).

Each homeowner will save about SEK 100 (USD 13, 2004-04) per month in "fixed costs" and perhaps the same amount in "running costs", hence the investment will pay itself within two(!) years!

49 out of 62 have already signed up for the transition to the new technology, and this percentage is probably a world record!

We at Måttgränd have once again proved that we are at the cutting edge of information technology!
